Loom is an open access tool for researchers interested in microRNAs.

The tool harvests the entire set of publications and establishes connections between microRNAs, genes and diseases as they are presented in literature.

It is comprised of 4 micro services:
1. A listener that checks if there are any new microRNA related publications in the NCBI databases
2. A natural language processor that extracts the sentences and paragraphs where microRNAs are mentioned in relation to a specific disease or gene
3. A scorer which is a machine learned model that evaluates the sentences based on manually curated evidence we've gathered
4. A graph that stores the relations and provides and API

Our objective is to provide a compelling overview of how microRNAs relate to specific diseases and genes. By visualizing and summarizing these connections we aim to help users shorten their reading time and facilitate their experimental design workflow.
